This nordic capital was the meeting point for more than 3,000 City Changers committed to sustainability.

Aiming to create greener, healthier, and happier cities for all dwellers now and for future generations, approximately 3,000 City Changers met at the URBAN FUTURE Global Conference in Oslo, Norway, on May 22 -24, 2019.

Co-organized by FutureBuilt, an innovative project that supports climate-friendly urban development in the Oslo region, Europe’s largest event for and about sustainable cities, was held at the named European Green Capital 2019.

Hanna E. Marcussen, Mayor for Urban Development in Oslo, was the co-host of the event where almost 200 passionate speakers, who fight for a sustainable future, could spread their expertise in more than 60 sessions.

For the first time in the UFGCs history, the conference integrated, in cooperation with EUROCITIES, a particular track for a group of 50 pre-selected young leaders, to foster the dialogue between high-level urban engaged youths.

Additionally, the attendees enjoyed 40 field trips and 20 side events, including floating saunas made from recycled materials, rowing a boat to experience the architectural changes at the harbor, and discovering the city’s bike infrastructure.
