Caren Ohrhallinger’s passion is to facilitate spatial change processes. As Partner and Managing Director at nonconform, an architecture and participatory planning bureau, she focuses on developing fine spaces for people to enable a good life – from buildings and public spaces to larger scale infrastructures, both in the country and in the city. Together with her partners, Caren developed several projects, including the “ideenwerkstatt” – a three-day participatory workshop to define visions for new interventions, as well as the “Leerstandkonferenz”, which addresses the problem of the many unused spaces and buildings in cities and villages. In her work, Caren focusses on the processes behind the actual design and planning - “I open up spaces of opportunity in which good solutions are created even in difficult situations”.
